Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service provides valuable peer led group work to people who are isolated and lonely, or are low in confidence and self-esteem. Our daytime groups were designed to bring people together to share their expertise and experience in coping with crisis. Group workers are supervised by Patrick, who also co-ordinates all group work at Dial House. He can be contacted by calling 0113 260 9328 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org You can find out more about this valuable work on the Group Work sessions page.
Why volunteer with Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service?
People who are beginning a career in counselling, social care or psychology often find volunteering here particularly helpful in providing them with some practical experience to support their study. We hold group facilitation training sessions throughout the year. The next sessions are on 21st & 28th Sept, and 5th & 12th Oct – 12 till 2.30pm at Dial House. If you are interested, please contact Patrick.
It would be advantageous for people interested in volunteering in group work to have some personal experience of attending groups or of group facilitation, awareness of person-centred group work as well as peer support, and the ability to facilitate various complex and diverse issues.
