Face to face volunteers

Face-to-face volunteers

After nine months of volunteering on the Connect Helpline, volunteers can apply to develop their skills by volunteering in Dial House, supporting visitors face-to-face in 1-1 sessions for up to an hour and in the social areas.  Volunteers looking to make this next step must do a full shift on Connect (until close) for three months in order to demonstrate they can commit to these hours.  After an interview process, we ask people to commit to one shift a fortnight in the house and to continue with a full shift on Connect once a fortnight.  Volunteers are supported in Dial House much the same as paid staff, and must attend the six-weekly supervision sessions for house volunteers.

Why volunteer with Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service?

People who are studying for or beginning a career in counselling, social care or psychology often find volunteering here particularly helpful in providing them with some practical experience.
