“The staff are so nice – there’s not one member of staff you can’t get on with – they’re all nice and helpful. They don’t talk down to you. ”

News and Events

In May 2008 we were chosen to become part of Community Care's Excellence Network. This is a new network, which replaces the annual Community Care Awards. It is an honours programme to recognise innovation. This year, twenty five teams were selected from over 400 applicants. The winning teams were described as “demonstrating real passion and commitment and have implanted progressive ways of working.” There were five categories; user involvement, self directed care, early intervention, partnership working and training and development. We were selected in the User Involvement category and were described as “a working example of the benefits of survivor led services.” The award was presented by Ivan Lewis, the Care Services Minister.

The next Connect volunteer training starts in September, so please contact us now if you are interested in taking part! We welcome applications from people who have past experience of mental health problems or services or of personal distress or crisis.
