Group work volunteering

Group work volunteering

Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service also aims to promote valuable peer support for visitors experiencing mental health crisis. Our daytime groups were designed to bring people together to share their expertise and experience in coping with crisis. This idea came from visitors themselves and they have been supported to develop their skills to the point where they now plan and facilitate the groups, with only minimal support from a group support worker. Group workers are supervised by Patrick, who also co-ordinates all group work at Dial House. He can be contacted by calling 0113 260 9328 or by emailing patrick.gatewood@lslcs.org.uk. You can find out more about this valuable work on the Group Work sessions page.

Why volunteer with Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service?

People who are beginning a career in counselling, social care or psychology often find volunteering here particularly helpful in providing them with some practical experience to support their study.

***We are currently not taking on new group volunteers.***
